I miss my little girl.

Of course I knew we would, but I had kind of thought that it would mainly be my wife. I can't put my finger on what it is that I miss. I just really, really look forward to seeing her again.

I heard her voice on the phone tonight, and got some pictures of her last night. She is changing so fast now that it is just unbelievable.

Not that we are not enjoying life. We are. This is actually something we needed. A break. It wasn't necessary in order to get us to appreciate our little girl. No, we needed this time just for ourselves. And we have been using it well. Tending to us. Lots of hugging and kissing. And just lying and staring into the sky. It doesn't hurt that my wife is still only working 8 to 4. She won't go back into her regular, insane schedule until late June. So this is a second honeymoon, of sorts.

After that, I will be mostly alone with my little girl again.

Montréal.

What an absolutely wonderful city. The pace is leisurely. The people chic, unassuming, and without stress. There is good food waiting for you on every street corner. And the weather was absolutely sublime.

Actually, I was taught as a kid that how much you liked a place you visited depended more on how much you liked your hosts at the place in question. If that is the case, then it is easy to explain why we've had such a wonderful time this weekend.
