Just saw "On Golden Pond" at the local "Opera House". Really. It was pleasant. The lead actor didn't have any voice. To 'speak' of (har har). But he used to be somewhat famous. As a TV actor. So he got a standing ovation at the end of it.
Sitting in a theater packed with people that look like they all just came from skiing is weird. But somehow cozy as well.

Today, I feel strongly like I am in Hitler's Germany, during his invasions into neighboring countries. I am reading desperate cries from residents of Baghdad, reverberating across the globe through radio and the Net.
These are the words of a BBC reporter, living in the city: "Sorry - my wife is shouting, the bombardment has started. This time the raid has started before the air-raid siren. The windows are shaking. I have to go."
I feel sick to my stomach. I am living in a country that is killing people in cold blood. Right now. It is being broadcast. And most everybody seem not to care. At all.
These are sorry days for the United States of America - once the champion of human rights.

Americans have started killing Iraqis.
The US military has begun firing missiles into Baghdad. Five million people live there.
They claim they're just going after one man. And his regime. And two sons. Their method? Raining bombs on a city that is two-thirds the population of New York.
Do they really think that we are too dumb to see what the results will be? Or are they just banking on our indifference?

I finally managed to change the style sheet for this blog to my liking. It had too many colors.
So I changed it to gray background for my links and plain gray type for visited links.
The hover is supposed to be white type on gray background, but doesn't seem to be working for new links, only visited ones.
Strange.

Michael Moore weighs in on the US invasion in an open letter today.
I like this guy. Where can I see his "Bowling for Columbine"? It's not in any of the local theaters, and it's not yet out on DVD.

I seem to have done something to my back while jogging last Wednesday. This kind of thing will usually go away after a day or two, but I've still not fully gotten rid of it today. Damn.
Somebody suggested that judging from the symptoms, I might have a slipped disk. I hope not.
At least pain killers make me completely forget this. Hurray for medication!
